Wigan's Michael McIlorum could be hit with ban
WIGAN hooker Michael McIlorum is facing a three-match ban after breaking Kirk Dixon’s jaw.
McIlorum has been charged with making a reckless high tackle on the Castleford winger during Wigan’s 36-31 defeat at Wheldon Road on Sunday.
Tigers player Justin Carney has also been charged with punching Wigan forward John Bateman during an incident earlier in the game.
Catalan second-rower Louis Anderson has been charged with making dangerous contact on Wakefield’s Taulima Tautai during the Wildcats’ 56-14 win on Sunday.
Salford’s Steve Rapira has also been charged with the same offence following a challenge on Widnes’ Alex Gerrard during his team’s 32-18 defeat last Thursday.
Carney will appear before an RFL disciplinary tribunal this evening while McIlorum, Anderson and Rapira have until 11am today to submit early-guilty pleas.
