Rugby League: Huddersfield Giants' Danny Brough crowned Man of Steel
DANNY BROUGH was last night crowned Super League's Man of Steel.
The half back won the coveted honour after leading Huddersfield to top spot for the first time in 81 years.
Brough, 30, has been in the best form of his life but will not be in England's World Cup squad when it is named today.
He switched allegiance to Scotland this season in protest at being snubbed following his England debut last year.
Brough beat short-listed pair Jamie Peacock and Sean O'Loughlin to the honour.
Brough's Huddersfield boss Paul Anderson was crowned Coach of the Year at last night's award ceremony in Manchester.
Anderson led the Giants to the League Leaders' Shield in his first full year as a coach.
Hull centre Ben Crooks was named Super League's Young Player of the Year.
