David Haye: ‘I want another chance’
DAVID HAYE has reiterated he would be happy to challenge Wladimir Klitschko to a rematch after his one-sided defeat in Hamburg.
“Wladimir made a statement saying first he would give me a rematch and then his manager said he wouldn’t,” said Haye.
“If there’s a potential rematch in there, I would love the opportunity to challenge for his titles. Maybe he will want the opportunity to knock me out and finish my career.”
Klitschko’s manager, Bernd Boente, has indicated a rematch is unlikely but Haye believes money could talk.
Both fighters will earn about £15million from their Hamburg contest and Haye said: “What Boente has to realise is that his fighter earned five times as much as he has ever earned before. I’m still the biggest fight out there for him.”
