Adam Peaty has lifted the lid on Gordon Ramsay's wedding speech and admitted it was "hard to beat" after he married the TV chef's daughter Holly. Three-time Olympic champion swimmer Peaty, 31, tied the knot to the model, 26, at Bath Abbey in December.

Gordon was by Holly's side as she walked into the historic church for the ceremony, while a number of celebrities were in attendance. Among those included former Manchester United footballer David Beckham and wife Victoria, children Romeo, Cruz and Harper, as well as Dragons' Den star Sara Davies and former MasterChef: The Professionals judge Marcus Wareing.

Now, more than three months on since marrying Gordon's daughter, Peaty was asked about his wedding speech and conceded that the Hell's Kitchen star won the prize for best toast of the day.

"It was always going to be hard to beat Gordon's speech," said Peaty. "Having her [Holly's] family there for the support and the love they have for us is incredible but Gordon is never going to find it hard to make the room laugh.

"He was able to bring the room together because that's what a wedding is in my eyes - that you bring these people from all areas of your life, you bring them together."

Gordon, 59, has completed a number of Ironman and ultramarathon events in recent years and Peaty competed for his future father-in-law in the August 2025 London T100 Triathlon to support the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

"[He's] very inspiring," Peaty said on Gordon. "I think for him it's obviously a very different way of life in terms of the business he has to do and the businesses he has to run.

"I take a lot of guidance. I look up to him a lot... in [terms of] sport, he knows the game is the game, that it doesn't lie. But it will humble you and you've got to work hard for those results.

"I know that whatever I learned through sport, those are the skills I can take into the rest of my life as well."

Peaty was speaking as he prepares to compete in the British Championships on Tuesday. It is a key step on the road to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, which is poised to be his fourth Games, having competed in Rio, Tokyo and Paris beforehand.

"The next two years are probably going to be the hardest of my career," Peaty said. "There probably won't be much winning, but the one win that does matter is LA."

"The Olympics is the one that excites me," he added. "That is the one that really gets me out of bed every day, the one I dream of. We have to set that path now. Two years out, it is about how much racing and experience can we gather to give the best performance in LA."
