Skier who suffered frozen penis at Winter Olympics handed more misery
Cross-country skier Remi Lindholm endured a harrowing frozen penis ordeal at the Winter Olympics.

Finnish cross-country skier Remi Lindholm had a distressing experience at the 2022 Winter Olympics, but the athlete won't be participating in Milan-Cortina after failing to make the team. The opening ceremony for the 2026 Games is set for Friday night, but there has been turmoil in the region ahead of the event.
Reports of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents being present in Italy have sparked backlash, and some athletes have also been forced into quarantine. A COVID outbreak has already disrupted scheduled events, but the Winter Olympics are expected to proceed as planned.
However, things didn't go smoothly for Lindholm four years ago. Lindholm represented Finland at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, competing in the men's 50km cross-country skiing event. The temperature was roughly -22 degrees Fahrenheit, and harsh winds made the weather feel even colder.
There were real fears that some athletes could get frostbite, leading organisers to delay the men's 50km race by an hour and reduce the distance by 20km. The athletes donned thin ski suits and thermals and covered parts of their faces, but the conditions remained severe for those involved.
Lindholm finished the event in 28th position, spending just over one hour and 15 minutes tackling the course. Upon crossing the finish line, Lindholm acknowledged that the freezing conditions had taken their toll, particularly on his manhood.
Speaking to Finnish media following the race, Lindholm said: "You can guess which body part was a little bit frozen when I finished. It was one of the worst competitions I've been in.
"It was just about battling through," he added. After completing the race, Lindholm required a heat pack to thaw out his private area.

Whilst Lindholm had endured an unfortunate situation, the agony intensified once heat was applied. "When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable," he added.
Lindholm's misfortune went viral during the 2022 Winter Olympics, but it wasn't the first time that he'd experienced it. The same situation occurred at the Ruka World Cup in 2021.
The skier admitted that the pain was worse during the first instance, despite the Winter Olympics incident also causing major discomfort. "It was [worse this time]. Pretty unbearable pain," he said.
Lindholm won't suffer another unfortunate situation at the 2026 Winter Olympics after being left off the roster. The 28-year-old failed to place inside the top 25 of any event at the previous Olympics and was overlooked by Team Finland.
His World Cup career has also been underwhelming since his debut in 2021. Lindholm placed 53rd overall at the 2023 World Cup, which was a career best.
