Luke Littler has never hidden his love for video games, with one darts star now looking to follow suit.

Darts star Cameron Menzies has gone full Luke Littler after admitting he’s hoping to spend more time playing video games than practising at the board.

Menzies crashed out of the World Grand Prix in the opening round, but the 35-year-old isn’t in a rush to pick up the arrows again anytime soon.

Instead, Menzies issued a frank update via X, saying: “Some good news man. Finally got reduced hours at work means more time on fifa sorry dart board.”

While somewhat tongue in cheek, it comes after Menzies posted an apology on his social media account following Tuesday’s devastating defeat against Dave Chisnall.

Chisnall won all six legs during the 2-0 whitewash, with Menzies admitting he was left feeling ‘heartbroken’ by the loss.

In a now-deleted post on X, Menzies said: “This is why I work. I am so far off being a pro n today absolutely broke my heart. I am so sorry."

He added the next day: “Deleted the tweets just because I want to forget about yesterday as quick as possible n go again.

“@ChizzyChisnall was far too good for me n gave me a massive learning curve. Class mate. Now Al sit back n watch like a fan n plod away.”

Menzies’ comments will resonate with fellow competitor Littler, who is a self-proclaimed FIFA lover.

Such is the teenager’s love of the video game, fans had speculated Littler opted to sit out of a recent tournament because EAFC (formerly FIFA) was set to be released the same weekend.

Addressing the speculation, Littler served up a coy response, saying: “What a coincidence,” accompanied by a tongue-sticking emoji.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given his age, Littler has never hidden his love of EAFC/ FIFA, commenting back in February: “You're never going to have time for FUT Champs anymore?’ I said: ‘I know.’ But luckily FUT Champs finishes on a Tuesday now.

“I will be back tonight, qualifying and playing. When I am abroad, I cannot take my travel case. But when we went to Brighton, I just take my travel Xbox.

“It’s a suitcase, you flip it up, it has the little screen, two controllers, you have a wireless phone. You put your phone on it and it charges. Target got it for me."

Who knows, maybe Menzies and Littler might even go head-to-head on the Xbox as well at the oche.
