Darts fans all say the same thing after Luke Littler beats Luke Humphries in Belfast
Luke Littler beat Luke Humphries in an other epic clash between the pair in Belfast.
Darts fans were left lauding another superb clash between Luke Littler and world champion Luke Humphries as the teenager prevailed in a final leg decider in Belfast. Having missed a match dart at 5-4, the youngster kept his nerve to take out 68, hitting treble 16 and then double 10 to book a place in the semi-finals on night nine of the Premier League.
The pair opened up the ninth week of the Premier League campaign, and it was Littler quickest out the blocks as he raced into a 2-0 lead. But 'Cool Hand Luke' broke straight back to level matters, and from there the pair went blow for blow.
Littler again finished with a three-dart average above three figures, clocking 102.02. Humphries notched 99.83, but missed out on a 10th straight consecutive competition win which would have equalled Michael van Gerwen's current record.
Since losing to Humphries in the PDC World Championship final in January, the 'Nuke' has beaten his rival in their four subsequent contests. And three of them have ended 6-5, a notion not lost on fans.
"Humphries v Littler never disappoints," wrote @mxtt_81. "Littler v Humphries you could watch for hours, insane level of darts," added @riobeare, while @davemc_exile echoed similar sentiments, writing: "I could watch Littler v Humphries all night both amazing players."
