Shelley Rudman takes the World Cup
SHELLEY RUDMAN took World Cup gold in St Moritz, while her partner, Kristan Bromley, took silver in the men’s race.
Shelley Rudman, 28, was trailing world No 1 Mellisa Hollingsworth of Canada after the first run, but set a seasonal track record of 1min 9.88secs on the second run to win by four-hundredths of a second.
Bromley posted the fastest time in the first heat, but the entire heat was discounted because of problems with the start grooves. He was 0.07sec behind Eric Bernotas (US) in the second run.
