Rock makes a winning switch
CHAMPION Hurdle winner Rock On Ruby made a successful transition to fences when landing the novice chase at Plumpton yesterday.
The eight-year-old, who won the hurdling crown at Cheltenham in 2012, put in an almost blemish-free round on his first run over fences.
He had an easy enough task, but his job was made even simpler when second- favourite Lamb's Cross parted company with Patrick Corbett at the third fence.
Noel Fehily, partnering Rock On Ruby for trainer Harry Fry, looked as though he was content to have the only other runner, Lindsay's Dream, for company before going away two out for a comfortable four-length win.
