Ruby Walsh plays happy families
THE Walshes are in danger of coming under the scrutiny of the Competition Commission ahead of the Grand National at Aintree tomorrow.
William Hill are offering 40-1 that the family will have an unprecedented National 1-2-3.
The favourite, On His Own, is the mount of Ruby Walsh, who rode the 2000 winner Papillon for his father, Ted, as well as the Willie Mullins-trained Hedgehunter five years later. This time, Walsh Snr has charge of the second and third in the betting.
His daughter, Katie, will bid to become the first woman to win the race aboard last year’s third, Seabass, while Colbert Station will be ridden by Tony McCoy.
