Horse racing tips July 1: The best bets at Musselburgh, Kempton and Southwell
Paul Nicholls can hit the ground running at Southwell today where jump racing resumes with Nineohtwooneoh in the opening contest.
Jumping action was last seen on March 17 before racing went into lockdown. Despite the lack of action Nicholls’s runners will not lack for fitness and will be well-schooled.
NINEOHTWOONEOH (12.00, nap), an impressive winner over hurdles at Musselburgh in February, has the class to defy his top weight on his chasing debut.
Nicholls can double up with former winning pointer THE GREATER GOOD (1.10) in the bumper.
Olly Murphy has solid claims of making it a treble at the Nottingham track.
The lightly raced ENEMY COAST AHEAD (2.10, nb) can build on his excellent second behind Mahler’s Promise on his hurdling debut at Newbury last year.
Doncaster bumper winner SANGHA RIVER (2.40) has the right attributes to make a winning debut over hurdles.
HUNTERS CALL (3.10, treble), responsible for putting Murphy on the map after his success at Ascot three years ago, can overcome his long absence by taking the handicap hurdle.
