Horse racing tips July 5: Horses you MUST back at Doncaster, Chelmsford and Sandown
RUTH CARR can again work her magic by improving castoffs from previous trainers with REPUTATION (8.30, nap) at Haydock.
The six-year-old, having his 40th race tonight, is now showing his best form since joining Carr this season.
Following a winning debut for the trainer at Ripon in April, the gelding was unlucky not to add to that success on his latest start when second behind Land Of Legends at Newmarket last month.
He is up 1lb for that effort and tackles a mile, for only the second time in his career, which will be ideal.
Land Of Legends, who was receiving 14lb at Newmarket, is certainly no slouch – he had won his previous race like a smart performer.
Following his promising fourth behind Far Above at Newmarket in April, JOYFUL MISSION (9.00, treble) is now ready to score.
This well-bred colt will relish the step-up to the mile from seven furlongs.
The highly-rated PROMISSORY (4.45, nb) can open her account before tackling better company at Doncaster.
The John Gosden-trained filly caught the eye when chasing stable companion Terebellum home at Goodwood in May.
The form of that contest stacks up well and significantly the daughter of Dubawi has an entry in next month’s Group 2 Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood.
