The world-famous Cheltenham Festival gets underway today with the Champion Hurdle the main race for the day.
Buveur D’Air was the winner of the race last year and the Nicky Henderson trained horse runs again today, being ridden by Barry Geraghty.
Indeed, Buveur D’Air is seeking a hat-trick of wins in the Champion Hurdle having also been victorious in 2017.
Buveur D’Air is likely to face strong competition from Apple’s Jade and Laurina.
Experts are predicting a close race with Laurina being ridden by experienced jockey Ruby Walsh.
The Champion Hurdle is run on the Old Course at Cheltenham and is just over 2 miles and half a furlong long.

There are eight hurdles to be jumped by the ten horses and is the most prestigious hurdling event in the National Hunt calendar.

ITV Sport have got the rights to Cheltenham, however they are only showing the first five of the seven races each day.
The Champion Hurdle will be the fourth race the channel show with it beginning at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
