He will be joined by all of golf's major stars who head to North Carolina with dreams of netting nearly $2million (£1.54million) in prize money by finishing first come Sunday night.
But first they will have to make it through four gruelling rounds of golf in sweltering temperatures in Charlotte.
When is the PGA Championship 2017?
The PGA Championship is traditionally the last major of the season after the Masters, the US Open, and The Open.
This year the competition runs from August 10-13 with the field cut down on Friday night after two rounds.
However, next year will be the last time the tournament falls in mid-summer as it will switch to May, in between the Masters and the US Open.
What time does play start at the PGA Championship 2017?
On Thursday and Friday, the first tee-time is 7.20am local time, or 12.20pm in the UK because of the five-hour time difference.
Over the weekend, once the field is a little smaller, the first tee-times will be a bit later while the leaders will be the last men to get underway on each day with times around 7.35pm UK time.

What time does UK coverage of the PGA Championship 2017 start?
Sky Sports no longer have the broadcast rights to the PGA Championship in the UK
The BBC instead are leading the coverage on this side of the Atlantic but it will not be as comprehensive as Sky's work on the other majors this year.
Instead, broadcasting will be split across TV and online with the overwhelming majority on the website.
