It’s fast food for Bubba Watson
AFTER all the fuss over slow play at Augusta, Bubba Watson showed what could be done yesterday in whizzing round the course in three hours and 20 minutes.
We almost lost Gary. He was choking on some food but he recovered well and kept going
The defending champion, the odd one out in the third-round draw, played with an Augusta member as a marker and shot his best round of the tournament – a two-under-par 70.
The repercussions over Watson’s pre-tournament Champions’ Dinner continue to reverberate around Augusta though with revelations that Gary Player struggled to swallow his basic creation of chicken, mash and macaroni cheese.
“We almost lost Gary. He was choking on some food but he recovered well and kept going,” said Player’s fellow South African Trevor Immelman, the 2008 champion.
