Tiger Woods feeling great after falling two shots short
TIGER WOODS missed out by just two shots on ending a two-year title drought at the Australian Open in Sydney.
“I felt great,” he said after finishing third, two shots behind local winner Greg Chalmers. “It’s nice to be finally healthy again as it has been such a long time.”
That was the 35-year-old’s mantra all week. His recovery from Achilles and knee injuries, he said, was finally allowing him to put in the hours necessary to get to grips with a new swing – and it is starting to show.
Recovering from a disastrous three-over 75 in the third round to shoot 67 yesterday was a boost for Woods, who was fit enough to get out and tweak a few things in practice.
“It was simple little fixes. I just had to reset my game and I was fine,” he said.
