The Open Championship gets underway today with home favourite Darren Clarke hitting the first tee shot.
Golf’s oldest major returns to Northern Ireland for the first time since 1951.
But the picturesque links course has undergone extensive logistical and infrastructure upgrades to get in shape for a modern major championship.
All four days are sold out with fans in one of golf's true heartlands relishing the chance to see the world's best take on a challenging course.
"It's a huge thing for all the Irish golfers, for Northern Ireland, for me, that lives here a little bit, to have The Open Championship," said Clarke, who won the Open in 2011.
"This is huge. This is the biggest and best tournament in the world."
Sky Sports has exclusive live coverage rights to the Open Championship.
However, highlights will be available on the BBC each night.
