Tiger Woods seals Masters glory with £2.86 ball that wins him £1.5MILLION
TIGER WOODS sealed Masters glory with a £2.86 golf ball - which has earned him £1.5million.
Woods took his 15th major - and his first for 11 years - with victory in Augusta.
He overturned a two-shot lead on Francesco Molinai, who crumbled in the back nine with two double bogeys after finding the water twice.
Tiger Woods roared to victory using Bridgestone Tour B golf balls which retail at $44.99 for a dozen.
That works out at £34.40 in the UK and, for each golf ball, that's £2.86.
According to GolfWeek.com, the balls are 'designed to give low- and mid-handicap golfers the ideal blend of distance, feel and spin based on swing type, preferences and needs'.
They add that 'each of the Tour B balls has a cover design that features a dimple within each dimple'.
"Bridgestone said the manufacturing process in creating this unique pattern has been improved, so the inner dimples help the Tour B balls achieve more thrust and distance off the tee."
Woods took advantage of a Francesco Molinari meltdown to win the famous Green Jacket.
And, in the process, he clinched the winner's cheque of more than $2million (£1.5m)
That's the reward for coming out on top while the runner-up takes home $1.2m (£950,000).
Third place will earn $782,000 (£600,000).
The Masters title is Woods' 15th golf major - and his first for 11 years.
