THE MASTERS is here as the top players in the world pitch up at Augusta National for the first Major of the year and today a group of them will take on the Par 3 contest.
The top stars in golf descended on Augusta as early as Monday for the Masters to try and beat the weather in an effort to practice round the course.
Tiger Woods, Justin Rose, Dustin Johnson, Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Thomas, and last year’s winner Patrick Reed were among the players on the range and taking in the scenery at Augusta.
What is the Par 3 contest?
The Par 3 contest sees players take on the smaller course at Augusta - nine holes of Par 3 golf.
The course was built in 1958 and was the dream of club co-founder Clifford Roberts.
The Augusta National Par-3 Course is a par of 27 and totals 1,060 yards in length.
Hole No. 1 — 130 yards
Hole No. 2 — 70 yards
Hole No. 3 — 90 yards
Hole No. 4 — 130 yards
Hole No. 5 — 130 yards
Hole No. 6 — 140 yards
Hole No. 7 — 115 yards
Hole No. 8 — 120 yards
Hole No. 9 — 135 yards
In 2016 Jimmy Walker set the course record at 19, beating the 20 set by Art Wall and Gay Brewer.
Previous winners include Tom Watson, Luke Donald, Louis Oosthuizen, Ben Crane, Padriag Harrington, Sandy Lyle, Vijay Singh, Arnold Palmer and Sam Snead.
Players are generally caddied by friends or celebrities during the event.
Last year Tony Finau dislocated his ankle when he ran down the hole backwards to celebrate getting a hole in one. Video footage showed him popping his ankle back in and he continued playing through the tournament.

Masters Par 3 TV channel and live stream
The Masters Par 3 contest will be shown on Sky Sports in the UK from 7pm GMT.
That means it is also available on Sky Go on desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
Sky Go is available for Sky customers who have it included in their package.
In the USA it will be shown between 3-5 p.m. on ESPN.
