Tiger Woods reveals TRUE relationship with Rory McIlroy ahead of Genesis Open
TIGER WOODS will play alongside Rory McIlroy at the Riviera Golf Course in California today, and has revealed the details of his relationship with the Northern Irishman.
Woods and McIlroy are two of the most iconic golfers on the planet, with McIlroy originally being touted as Woods’ heir.
Both men have shared a life where their success on the course was predicted from an early age.
Woods appeared on US talk shows as young as two years old to show off his aptitude with a club in hand, while McIlroy was hitting balls into washing machines on Irish television aged nine.
Arguably the greatest player of all time, 14-time major winner Woods has never won the Genesis Open, based in his place of birth, in 13 attempts.
McIlroy, a four-time major winner, has not won either on the California greens.
Ahead of the iconic pair’s round, Woods opened up on their relationship, and how they are both desperate to claim victory this weekend.
"I've always enjoyed playing with Rory," Woods told reporters.
"He's a great kid and we've got close over the years.

“I’ve always enjoyed watching him play, how he's developed and the amount of tournaments he's won and the majors and the margins he's won.
"He is still learning and developing, so there are so many more wins ahead of him.
“But I've just enjoyed being a part of watching him mature on the Tour and getting to know him a lot closer."
As for his troubles with the course, Woods explained: “Hopefully I can finally play this golf course well.
“It's been a while. I had an opportunity against Ernie, when I was one back with one to go and I put it over there in some beer tent to the right.
“So hopefully I can do a little bit better this year."
