Tiger Woods wins Tour Championship – Did you see fans all do the same thing in odd photos?
TIGER WOODS got back to winning ways at the Tour Championship on Sunday, but fans on the course didn't seem to be fully enjoying the moment.
Tiger Woods looks back to his best after claiming his first victory in five years at the Tour Championship in Georgia.
The former World No 1 had a five-shot lead heading into the final round at East Lake and kept his cool to scoop his 80th PGA Tour win.
Woods remains an immensely popular champion and was cheered home by a huge partisan crowd as he hits form ahead of the Ryder Cup.
However, the majority of supporters who were on the course to witness the 42-year-old’s triumph caught the eye by all doing exactly the same thing in the build-up to the winning moment.
Golf fans flooded onto the course and walked up the 18th fairway with Woods as he closed in on his latest trophy.
However, instead of enjoying the moment and sharing in his miraculous comeback, large numbers instead viewed the scene through the cameras on their phones.
The crowd behind Woods was a sea of mobiles as supporters looked to capture the perfect shot of the 14-time major champion.
In fact, the image of Woods holding his arms aloft in celebration on the final green is amusingly mirrored by the rows of fans raising their phones in response.
With smartphones allowing pictures to be instantly uploaded and shared on social media, golfers now have to perform under even more intense scrutiny.
The craze has become so bad in recent years that mobiles have been banned at The Masters.
However, Woods didn’t seem fazed by the scrutiny, saying: “I just loved it out there, the fight and the grind but I was trying hard not to cry at one point.
“At the beginning of the year this was a tall order but I proved I could progress and put it together.”
