Chelsea transfer news: Thibaut Courtois responds after Sarri comments and fans are worried
THIBAUT COURTOIS says he can’t wait to be back but his ambiguous message has left Chelsea fans doubtful over his future.
Chelsea manager Sarri hopes Thibaut Courtois stays at the club
Courtois’ future has been in doubt throughout the transfer window with the Belgium ace keen to join Real Madrid.
Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has been in talks with Real about Courtois but no agreement has been found over a fee.
The Blues are also unwilling to let Courtois leave until they have signed a replacement.
Courtois is due back at the club this weekend after a break following the World Cup and in a post on Instagram, the goalkeeper says he is looking forward to returning.
Can’t wait to be back
In a picture of himself making a save for Belgium at the World Cup, he wrote: “Can’t wait to be back! #1.”
But fans were unsure about the cryptic message.
One fan wrote: “Back to where??
Another wrote: “Chelsea or Real Thibaut?”
While one supporter said: “Loyalty or Money. What’s it gonna be?”
Courtois’ post comes after Maurizio Sarri admitted he didn’t know whether the goalkeeper would stay.
“I don’t know,” said Sarri.
“At the moment Courtois is the goalkeeper of the club but I don’t know in the future.
“It depends on the club, and especially on him I think. I hope that Courtois will be our goalkeeper.”
