Chelsea vs Perth Glory: Five things we learned – New formation, more popular than Man Utd
CHELSEA took on Perth Glory in their first match under new manager Maurizio Sarri – so what did we learn from the pre-season clash?
Chelsea got their pre-season tour underway with a comfortable win against Perth Glory at the Optus Stadium.
Pedro scored the only goal of the game early on for the Blues as the squad got their first run-out since the summer break.
Chelsea fans will be interested to see Maurizio Sarri abandon the preferred 5-2-3 formation of his predecessor Antonio Conte – instead opting for his favoured 4-3-3 line-up.
Meanwhile, it appears the Blues have no trouble attracting fans across the globe with their clash against Perth drawing a 60,000 sell-out.
This is in stark contrast to Manchester United’s US tour, with Jose Mourinho’s side playing their pre-season matches in front of half-empty stadiums.
