Champions League tackle: Is this the most SHOCKING challenge you’ll ever see? WATCH
THIS is the moment a player competing in a Champions League qualifier kung fu kicked his opponent in one of the dirtiest tackles of all time.
While the new Premier League season is yet to kick off, the European qualification campaign has already kicked off.
Celtic booked their place in the second qualifying round with a comfortable 3-0 win over Alashkert despite Jozo Simunovic picking up an early red card.
However, the same can’t be said for Luxembourg National Division side F91 Dudelange who suffered a 2-1 (3-2 agg) defeat to MOL Vidi.
Dudelange were on a desperate hunt for an equaliser against their Hungarian opponents that would have seen them progress on away goals when it all went a bit wrong.
Defender Bryan Melisse committed one of the worst tackles you’ll see in football – and was quickly given his marching orders as a result.
Melisse tried to clear the ball but ended up clattering into opponent Mate Patkai on the follow through.
The 29-year-old Frenchman launched a two-footed kung fu style kick on Patkai as he attempted a clearence.
The referee didn’t hesitate and went straight to his pocket to brandish the red card.
Melisse was heavily berated by players as he made is way off the pitch and down the tunnel.
