Reports today claimed Liverpool had made a £62m bid for the Brazil international, with the goalkeeper agreeing terms with the Reds.
However, Liverpool have since denied they have tabled an offer for the 25-year-old stopper.
And according to the Daily Mirror, Chelsea are prepared to pay Roma £70m for Alisson this summer.
They reckon the Blues will send transfer chiefs to Rome to open talks with the Serie A giants.
The Mirror also claim that Roma are keen to spark a bidding war between Chelsea and Liverpool for Alisson.
Alisson’s arrival at Stamford Bridge would push Thibaut Courtois towards Real Madrid.

The Belgium international, who has one year remaining on his current Chelsea contract, is a long-term target for the Spanish giants.
Chelsea are demanding at least £50m for Courtois this summer.
Courtois won the World Cup Golden Glove following Belgium’s impressive campaign, which saw them finish third, beating England in a play-off.
Maurizio Sarri took over at Stamford Bridge last week, replacing Antonio Conte in west London.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to sign a new No 1 this summer following Loris Karius’ horror show in the Champions League final last season.
