Liverpool transfer news: Mohamed Salah emerges as key to big Jurgen Klopp deal
LIVERPOOL star Mohamed Salah has emerged as key to Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of signing one player, reports say.
Liverpool boss Klopp signed Salah last summer with the Egypt international arriving from Serie A giants Roma in a £34million deal.
The 26-year-old went on to enjoy a stunning first season on Merseyside, hitting 44 goals as the Reds reached the Champions League final.
He has since penned a new Liverpool contract to stave off interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Yet the Liverpool Echo say the Reds face a fight to sign Alisson from Roma because of the way they signed Salah a year ago.
Roma were forced to sell the wing wizard for cheap to balance the books.
Their loss, however, was Liverpool’s gain with Salah now established as one of the best players in world football.
Express Sport understands Klopp has made Alisson their No 1 goalkeeping target.
Despite reports to the contrary, Liverpool still want a new shot-stopper in the wake of Loris Karius’ dire Champions League display.
Yet the Liverpool Echo say that Roma, while considering Salah, want to price Klopp out of a deal.
They are reportedly still angry at how easily the player was able to move to Anfield last year.

And, as a result, the Reds will have to break the bank to have any chance of securing Alisson’s signature.
Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth, meanwhile, has suggested Liverpool’s interest in the Brazilian has cooled.
“Liverpool were interested in Alisson. That one has gone a bit quiet,” Sheth told the Transfer Talk podcast.
“If Alisson goes to Real Madrid, could Courtois go to Liverpool?
“I can’t see Chelsea selling to a rival.”
