ENGLAND will face Croatia in their World Cup semi-final clash after Luka Modric and co edged past Russia in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.
The Three Lions dominated against Sweden this afternoon, with Harry Maguire and Dele Alli netting in a comfortable 2-0 win.
And Gareth Southgate’s men will have been keeping a close eye on Russia’s clash with Croatia.
The sides couldn’t be separated after extra-time, with a penalty shoot-out deciding the quarter-final clash, with Croatia winning 4-3 on penalties to stun the host nation.
Russia went ahead in the 31st minute through Denis Cheryshev, but Croatia fired back quickly, with Andrej Kramaric bagging the equaliser.
Domagoj Vida thought he’d won it for Croatia in extra-time, however, Mario Fernandes levelled in the 115th minute to set up the shoot-out.
Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic netted the winning penalty to set up a final-four tie with England on Wednesday night (7pm kick-off).
