Arsenal transfer news: Talks start with Sevilla for N’Zonzi as Torreira deal gets closer
ARSENAL have reportedly entered talks with Sevilla about a deal to sign Steven N’Zonzi.
Steven Nzonzi scores impressive goal for Sevilla
N’Zonzi is well known to the Premier League after playing for Blackburn and Stoke but his reputation has been enhanced following a spell in Spain at Sevilla.
In his first season at Sevilla, the France midfielder played under new Arsenal boss Unai Emery and they won the Europa League with a win over Liverpool.
And it appears Emery is ready to rekindle his relationship with N’Zonzi at the Emirates.
According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are in talks with Sevilla about the 29-year-old.
But the reports adds that Sevilla may look to replace N’Zonzi with Jean Michael Seri from Nice.
N’Zonzi is currently at the World Cup with France which could hamper Arsenal’s hopes of a swift transfer.
However, Arsenal are closing in on deal for Lucas Torreira.
The Gunners have agreed a fee with Sampdoria for the midfielder and following Uruguay's exit from the World Cup, he is now free to become Arsenal’s fourth signing of the summer.
Emery has quickly attained his targets this summer with Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos arriving at the club.
Arsenal begin their Premier League campaign against reigning champions Manchester City on August 12.
