Real Madrid transfer news: Barcelona icon Rivaldo demands Neymar deal
BARCELONA legend Rivaldo says Neymar should join Real Madrid.
McManaman: Madrid want Neymar to replace Ronaldo
Neymar has been linked with a stunning summer deal to the Bernabeu.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker is believed to have been courted by Real ever since he left Barcelona for France last summer.
There has been so much chatter over a move that Real released a statement on Monday denying their interest.
But Rivaldo, who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 and two La Liga titles at Barcelona, thinks Neymar should head to the Bernabeu.
The 46-year-old told Sport Bild that if Neymar wants to win the Ballon d’Or “he should play for one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
A change for Neymar to Real is so important
He said: “From my point of view, he can not get the title (Ballon d’Or).
“If Neymar wants to do that, he'll have to play at one of the biggest clubs in the world.
“At Paris Saint-Germain under new coach Thomas Tuchel, he will never become the world’s best footballer.
“The football he needs is available in Spain, for example. That's why a change for Neymar to Real is so important.”
Neymar’s future is expected to be resolved after the World Cup.
Spanish newspaper El Confidencial claim Real’s statement denying their interest in his is in fact at plot to snare the Brazilian later down the line.
Real are tipped to sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, with Juventus supposedly eyeing an £88m deal for the Portugal superstar.
And Real would likely have to sell one of their forwards before making a move for Neymar.
