Cristiano Ronaldo: Diego Maradona dodges transfer question over Real Madrid star
DIEGO MARADONA has swerved questions over Cristiano Ronaldo and his future at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo and Portugal were sent crashing out of the World Cup on Saturday after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Uruguay.
The 33-year-old, who has won five Champions Leagues with Real Madrid, has been linked with a stunning move away from the Bernabeu.
Reports over the weekend suggested that Juventus are keen on striking a big deal for a player, who has also been coveted by Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ronaldo has won pretty much everything possible at domestic level and may feel the need for a change in scenery.
If Cristiano has to stay at Real Madrid or not he has to decide, I am not getting involved in that
But Maradona has dodged questions over Ronaldo’s future, insisting it is not for him to say.
When asked for his thoughts, he said: “If Cristiano has to stay at Real Madrid or not he has to decide, I am not getting involved in that.
"Ronaldo has people by his side who know how to advise him and they will give him the best advice possible."
Maradona also launched a staunch defence of Ronaldo, who was criticised after his display against Uruguay.

He added: “Well, that is a silly question because he is clearly a star player.
“He truly is, there is no doubt.”
Ronaldo refused to answer questions over his international future, amid speculation he could retire.
Should he make it to Qatar in 2022, Ronaldo will be nearly 37.
