Chelsea transfer news: Expert finally delivers good news ALL Blues will want to hear
IT has been a summer of woe at Chelsea but Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur has finally delivered some good transfer news.
Eden Hazard: More fouls means I'm playing well
Their star player Eden Hazard has yet to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, with his current contract due to expire in 2020.
But Terreur believes the playmaker is not going to leave Chelsea – and even suggested he could sign a new deal at the club.
That’s despite the immediate future being uncertain with boss Antonio Conte still holding on to his job despite Maurizio Sarri waiting in the wings to replace him
Real Madrid have been interested in Hazard for years and the man himself has previously declared his interest in moving to the Bernabeu.
I think Real Madrid were interested before Zidane left
But the landscape has changed ever since Zinedine Zidane walked away from the club after winning the Champions League final.
Terreur told the Transfer Talk podcast: “I haven't heard anything about Real Madrid since Zidane left. There's always been contact with agents and his dad has been in touch with the club too. But when Zidane left it was not going to happen.
“I think Real Madrid were interested before Zidane left. He was always pushing for Hazard for three years but in a way a deal never materialised for him.
“He was in talks with them in 2016 but then he got injured and Madrid decided not to move for him.
“It will be difficult for him to move away from Chelsea as they are not going to sell a lot of players and certainly not their best player.
“In the situation they are in, he wants to make what the club are going to do, he wants to know who the new manager is and the players they are going to be signing, then he might consider even signing a new deal.
“For him, it's always been about his family life and his family have always been very happy in London.
“It's not a priority for him to move but if he could make his dream move to Real Madrid he'd take it.
“He knows it's now or never, he's 27 and will become 28 in January, it's now or never.”
