Man Utd transfer news: Real Madrid boost, Gareth Bale has caused massive squad row - claim
MANCHESTER UNITED have been handed a massive boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, reports have claimed.
Bale 'extremely likely' to transfer to Man United says expert
Manchester United want Real Madrid forward Bale, with Jose Mourinho desperate to succeed where David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Sir Alex Ferguson have all failed.
The Red Devils know they need more firepower if they are to stop Manchester City dominating English football again next term.
Manchester United are understood to be frontrunners in the race for Bale, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham also linked.
And Spanish website Diario Gol say Mourinho’s men have now been handed a huge boost.
The report suggests that Bale is no longer a popular figure within the Real dressing room.
Members of the squad are reportedly angry at the way he acted in the build-up to Zinedine Zidane’s sudden departure.
Zidane quit the club earlier this month and has since been replaced by former Spain manager Julien Lopetegui.
But Real players supposedly feel his petulant behaviour forced the Frenchman to leave the club.
Diario Gol add Bale has also angered members of the squad by failing to congratulate Lucas Vazquez.
Vazquez’s partner, Macarena Rodriguez, gave birth to a son on May 31.

And Bale, the report claims, failed to congratulate the couple.
Meanwhile, Wales manager Ryan Giggs thinks Manchester United fans would ‘adore’ Bale if he moved to Old Trafford.
“I’d be a happy United fan, that’s for sure,” he said.
“I think he’s a Man United player. I think the fans would love him.
“The fans would adore him but again, like I say, he’s at a club where he’s won three Champions Leagues so why would you leave?”
