Liverpool transfer news: Gary Neville sends huge warning over ‘unprofessional’ Shaqiri
LIVERPOOL fans have been issued a firm warning over what they can expect if Xherdan Shaqiri joins them this summer.
Shaqiri: "I'm not a fan" says Neville before World Cup clash
Manchester United legend Gary Neville has made his feelings clear on the Stoke winger while working as a pundit at the World Cup.
Shaqiri has been linked with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks.
He is keen on leaving Stoke following their relegation from the Premier League.
But Neville has labelled the 26-year-old, along with Stoke last season, “unprofessional” and admits he does not like the player.
I’m not a fan of Shaqiri to be honest with you
“I’m not a fan of Shaqiri to be honest with you,” he said on ITV.
“I think that was to be fair made worse by the fact that he distanced himself from his team-mates as Stoke.
“They were unprofessional last season Stoke there’s no doubt and he epitomises it.
“He could score the goal of the tournament and he could have the most amazing game tonight (against Brazil).
“But he could also be there for three matches, do nothing and just amble and waddle around.
“To be honest with you with him, players like that I can’t have to be honest with you, I struggle with it.”
Shaqiri started for Switzerland in their opening World Cup group E game against Brazil this evening.
