Cristiano Ronaldo: Man Utd set salary price for Real Madrid star as transfer claims emerge
CRISTIANO RONALDO could return to Manchester United from Real Madrid with reports suggesting the Red Devils have settled on a salary to offer their former No 7.
Ronaldo transfer will be 'difficult to make happen' says Sid Lowe
Ronaldo is being linked with a Manchester United return after hinting his time at Real Madrid was coming to an end.
The 33-year-old propelled the La Liga giants to Champions League glory just over a week ago, as they beat Liverpool 3-1 in the final in Kiev.
Speaking afterwards, however, Cristiano Ronaldo hinted at an exit by saying: “In the next few days I will give an answer to the fans that have always been on my side.
"It was very nice to be at Real Madrid, in the coming days I will talk about it more."
And Transfermarketweb say United have settled on how much they will offer for Ronaldo.
The report suggests they are willing to offer him a huge £15.8m a year.
It has been claimed Ronaldo wants to quit Real because of their refusal to meet his wage demands.
Yet United are reportedly confident that they can convince the Portugal international to take a pay cut.
Transfermarketweb point out United’s offer is less than what the forward currently earns.
But whether the sheer prospect of a move back to Old Trafford is enough to secure his signature remains to be seen.
The report has emerged as a time where rumours of a move have gone into overdrive.
Yesterday, it was written that Real had sounded out United about a potential transfer.
And it was also claimed that Ronaldo expects a return to the club he left back in 2009.
