Barcelona transfer news: Antoine Griezmann reveals HUGE Atletico Madrid future update
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN has declared that his future will be decided before the start of the World Cup amid continued speculation linking him with a summer switch to Barcelona.
The Atletico Madrid frontman netted a penalty in France’s 3-1 win over Italy on Friday as he prepares to lead the line for Les Bleus in Russia this summer as they chase only a second ever success in the tournament.
But where he will start the new club season in August remains the biggest story regarding the 26-year-old, with Barca’s chase of the striker far from subtle.
Griezmann is said to have an £89million release clause in his Atletico contract and Barca are thought to have made him a key signing despite boasting an already star-studded attacking unit.
And the ex-Real Sociedad forward has revealed that he expects his decision to be made before the World Cup begins in just 10 days’ time.
My future? It’ll be determined before the World Cup.
Speaking to TF1, Griezmann declared: “My future? It’ll be determined before the World Cup.
“The most important thing is that I'm feeling happy.
"I feel fine, I have total confidence.
"We [France] must keep our feet on the ground and do everything possible to succeed at the World Cup."
Griezmann ended the season with 29 goals and 15 assists in 49 appearances for Atleti, including a crucial brace in their Europa League final triumph last month.

The striker, who nearly signed for Manchester United last summer, has four years left to run on his current contract at the Wanda Metropolitano.
He has been offered hugely-improved terms to stay with Atleti as the capital club look to avoid losing their star man to the La Liga champions.
France start their World Cup with a Group C clash against Australia on June 16 in Kazan, with Griezmann expected to spearhead Didier Deschamps' attack.
