And according to German newspaper Bild, the 29-year-old is likely to head to the Emirates this summer.
They say Arsenal are willing to hand Papastathopoulos a two-year contract to join the Gunners.
Bild add that Dortmund will sell the defender for around £17.5m (€20m), with the German side already eyeing a replacement.
Mainz ace Abdou Diallo tops their transfer wishlist, with Dortmund readying a £22m (€25m) bid for the defender.
