The Reds need a point against the Seagulls to guarantee they qualify for the Champions League.
But they will have to do it without Milner, who was left out the side by Klopp.
With the Champions League final less than two weeks away, Liverpool fans took to Twitter to express their concerns at Milner's omission.
Although Klopp has eased fears by describing the problem only as a 'little injury'.
He said: "It’s serious enough to put him out for today; he couldn’t train the whole week.

“We hope it will work out. But we had to accept it and we had to think about solutions. That’s the solution: Dom Solanke is in the team. Now we can go.
In better news for the Reds, Adam Lallana has returned to the subs' bench after six weeks out.
Klopp added: "Good, of course. [He is] an important option for us.
“How long [he could play], I don’t know – we have to see what’s possible. But he trained completely normally, and that’s of course good for us in these times.”
