Arsenal news: Why Thierry Henry can replace Arsene Wenger - Roberto Martinez
ARSENAL legend Thierry Henry has the potential to become a top-class manager, claims Roberto Martinez.
Thierry Henry has worked alongside Roberto Martinez at Belgium for almost two years
Belgium boss Martinez knows his assistant manager Henry better than most having worked with him for almost two years.
With Arsenal announcing Arsene Wenger will leave in the summer, a whole host of names have been linked with the job.
Henry has refused to rule himself out of the running despite not having any managerial experience.
And Martinez believes the Frenchman would be up to any challenge he faces in his career.
Any role that he takes in football, he will make it succeed
"Thierry is a passionate man for football, he lives football,” he told talkSPORT.
“Any role that he takes in football, he will make it succeed.
"He is very intelligent and he has that approachability. He connects with players.
"Thierry identifies how he can use his own experiences with players and that is going to be a big strength in his coaching career.
Martinez says Thierry Henry will succeed at whatever role he does in football
"He is huge asset to the Belgium national team, especially for the experience he has had in major tournaments.
"The way Thierry works, he will always be a successful person.
"We have been working now for two years and you can see he is very natural on the training ground and coaching."
The current favourite to take over at Arsenal is Luis Enrique.
