Liverpool news: Sky Sports pundit makes big Trent Alexander-Arnold prediction
SKY SPORTS pundit Matt Le Tissier admits he cannot see how England boss Gareth Southgate cannot take Trent Alexander-Arnold to this summer’s World Cup.
Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a great breakthrough season at Liverpool
Alexander-Arnold, 19, has had a superb breakthrough season at Liverpool.
The right-back has benefited from the long-term injury to Nathaniel Clyne and has become the Reds’ first-choice on the right of defence.
He shone in Liverpool’s Champions League quarter-final win over Manchester City, where Le Tissier said he kept Leroy Sane “in his pocket”.
Alexander-Arnold is yet to receive a senior national call up but Le Tissier does not think that matters.
Sane I think is one of the best players in the Premier League and he had him in his pocket for those two games
“Well if Gareth was watching those two games against Man City, I can’t see how he couldn’t take him,” the Southampton legend said.
“I just thought he was absolutely outstanding, again against Bournemouth.
“He’s just been phenomenal. For a young lad it was just such a mature performance.
“Sane I think is one of the best players in the Premier League and he had him in his pocket for those two games.

Le Tissier says Trent Alexander-Arnold should go to the World Cup
“Again against Bournemouth I thought he was showing a maturity in his game that tells me that going to a World Cup final wouldn’t phase this boy at all.
“He’s played in some huge games, put in some fantastic performances and it has really been a stunning few weeks that he’s had.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if he went.”
