Man Utd news: Sky Sports pundit predicts what Alexis Sanchez will do next season
ALEXIS SANCHEZ will not show Manchester United his best form until next season, claims Sky Sports pundit Tony Cottee.
Craig Burley mocks Alexis Sanchez over Man United form
Sanchez joined Manchester United from Arsenal in January but has often flattered to deceive.
The Chile international has scored just twice in his 12 appearances for the Red Devils.
Arguably his best performance came in the second half of the dramatic 3-2 comeback win against rivals Manchester City on Saturday, where he provided two assists.
But Cottee says fans are wrong to expect Sanchez to perform at that level every week just yet.
Alexis Sanchez has struggled to hit top form at Manchester United
There’s so much that comes into the equation and again next season we will see the real Alexis Sanchez
“He wasn’t on his game in the first half (against City), like all the Manchester United team,” Cottee said.
“I’ve been on this show and we’ve spoken about it, you’ve got to give Sanchez time.
“Everyone expects because he’s a top player, and he is a top player, he came from a great football club in Arsenal, he goes to Man United, ‘oh all of a sudden he’s going to be a world-class player’. It’s not as simple as that.
“You’ve got to know all your surroundings, your team-mates, you need your wife and your family to be happy, moving up to Manchester.

“We’re going to see a glimpse of it, we saw glimpses in the second half.
“But he hasn’t been consistent because he is settling into a new club.”
