Chelsea on verge of new manager deal after PSG admit defeat
CHELSEA are reportedly close to confirming Luis Enrique as their new manager for next season.
Chelsea are reportedly close to appointing Luis Enrique as their new manager
Chelsea and current boss Antonio Conte are expected to part ways at the end the current campaign.
And former Barcelona man Enrique is all set to replace the Italian, claim reports in France.
According to newspaper La Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain approached Enrique about the possibility of him joining the Parc des Princes side.
But PSG will have to look elsewhere to find replacement for the soon-to-be-departed Unai Emery.
La Parisien claim Enrique has been discarded by bosses in Paris because the Spaniard is ready to head to Chelsea.
Enrique has taken a year out of football since leaving Barcelona last year, much like another ex-Barca boss Pep Guardiola did before him.
Chelsea are unlikely to announce any deal for a new manager until Conte’s future is resolved.
The former Italy head coach is tipped to return to Serie A, with Inter Milan a possible destination.
Luis Enrique left Barcelona last season and is also wanted at PSG
Taking up the job as Azzurri boss once again supposedly interests Conte, although there are a handful of other candidates for that role.
As for PSG, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino has not been ruled out, although Real Madrid may move for the Argentine if Zinedine Zidane is given his marching orders.
