Man Utd news: Cristiano Ronaldo reveals Old Trafford memories in new Nike advert
CRISTIANO RONALDO has revealed how he felt when he joined Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been reliving his Manchester United career
The Real Madrid star has flourished into one of the world's best in recent years.
But even at a young age, Ronaldo held huge potential.
His performances at Sporting Lisbon impressed Sir Alex Ferguson so much that the Scot was forced to spend £12m on the untested 18-year-old back in 2003.
And Ronaldo's self-belief has never been in doubt.
"At the beginning I was dreaming to be the best player in the world," he said in Nike's new Mercurial advert.
Sir Alex Ferguson propelled Cristiano Ronaldo's career at Manchester United
When I started with Manchester this is what I started to believe
"Friends of mine were looking at me like: ‘What are you talking about’.
"In my mind I think I have potential."
But Ronaldo admits that it was his time at Old Trafford that helped him believe he could fulfil his potential.
"When I started with Manchester this is what I started to believe," he continued.
"I didn’t see many people with my talent, my dedication, my work, my ethic of football.
"No one is gonna be compared with me, nobody is going to be Cristiano Ronaldo."
Ronaldo has continuously been linked with a return to Manchester over the years.
However, it appears the 33-year-old may well end his career at the Santiago Bernabeu.
