Philippe Coutinho discovers Barcelona vs Real Madrid transfer battle
PHILIPPE COUTINHO has reportedly learned Paris Saint-Germain star Marquinhos could join Barcelona or Real Madrid.
Marquinhos: I will 100% be with Paris next season
Marquinhos is regarded as one of the world’s top rising defensive talents and he has been tipped for big things at the Parc des Princes.
His performances at PSG have drawn plenty of admiring glances from a cluster of Europe’s top clubs.
Barcelona and Real Madrid have been linked with moves for Marquinhos in the past as they look to strengthen their respective defences.
And the latest reports from Spain suggest Coutinho has discovered the La Liga duo could get their chance to sign the 23-year-old this summer.
According to Don Balon, Marquinhos has told Coutinho that he is looking for a change of scenery.
And that’s come after PSG were dumped out of the Champions League by Real.
Marquinhos is said to have been in Barcelona’s sights for a while.
Barcelona are likely to loan out Yerry Mina in the summer, with Thomas Vermaelen to leave too.
And Marquinhos might be bought to provide support for first-choice centre-backs Samuel Umtiti and Gerard Pique.

Barcelona will apparently face competition from Real for the Brazilian’s signature though.
Real president Sergio Ramos has told Florentino Perez to sign competition for Raphael Varane.
And Marquinhos is in pole position to take up that position at the Bernabeu.
However, how high a price tag PSG slap on the former Roma star remains to be seen.
