Liverpool news: Match of the Day pundit reveals the one player missed against Man Utd
DANNY MURPHY has revealed the one player Liverpool missed against Manchester United.
Romelu Lukaku proved a real handful for Liverpool
Liverpool failed to cope with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday as they slumped to a 2-1 defeat.
Romelu Lukaku was a constant thorn in the Reds defence and played a key role in both goals scored by Marcus Rashford.
The powerful Belgian bullied Dejan Lovren for the opener and held the ball up for Juan Mata from a goal kick, and although he couldn’t get his shot off, Rashford fired home via a deflection off Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Murphy thinks Jurgen Klopp’s men should have done a better job in “screening” and the man they missed most was Jordan Henderson.

You need to have someone screening. I played holding role and I always helped out the defence
When asked about Lovren’s positioning in trying to win the ball against Lukaku, Murphy told BBC’s Match of the Day 2: “I agree with you on not swapping - if you swap, he’ll just come over to you.
“There is an occasion when you are playing against someone so powerful and good in the air that centre backs have to drop off a couple of times, in order to make him flick it onto you and make him think about whether you are challenging or not.
“You need to have someone screening.
