Neymar - a summer transfer target for Real Madrid - missed the match after undergoing surgery on a fractured metatarsal.
He took to Twitter after the final whistle, and said: ”I am sad for defeat, much sadder for not being in the field helping my companions!!.
“What makes me proud is to see everyone's effort. Congratulations my guys, ALLEZ PARIS.”

PSG defender Marquinhos complained that his team are currently not good enough to win the competition.
“It's very frustrating,” he said. “It's hard to be knocked out of this competition as it was our main objective.
“It shows we still have to work, to be more mature and have more experience.
“You could see Madrid were good on certain details while we didn't manage to be good on those small details.
“I think we can't win this competition right now. Everyone tells us we have to lose a lot in order to learn and to win this competition.”

Meanwhile, Julian Draxler slammed manager Unai Emery for delaying a decision to bring him on as a substitute.

“It was insensitive,” he said.
“I didn't know what was going on. I was surprised and angry.”
