MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to make David De Gea a mammoth contract offer that will prevent him from joining Real Madrid, reports claim.

De Gea has been a long-standing target for Real Madrid and he came very close to leaving Manchester United in the summer of 2015, however a faulty fax machine saw a deal collapse.
The Spaniard has been in superb form for United and he is currently earning around £210,000 a week.
Real are exploring potential options to replace Keylor Navas, with Chelsea shot-stopper Thibaut Courtois also on their wishlist.
United also supposedly held talks with Atletico Madrid over Jan Oblak in the event that De Gea should go.

But according to the Daily Star Sunday, United are readying a stunning £350,000-a-week deal to keep hold of De Gea.
The report suggests this is the likely offer that will be put on the table for the 27-year-old.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marouane Fellaini expected to be taken off the wage bill, the Star claim this will make it easier to pay De Gea’s huge contract.

When asked about his future last month, he told the Daily Star Sunday: “A lot has happened to me - some very good, some not so good, - but to be honest I am just really happy.
“I feel like an important player in the dressing room. I am one of the oldest in the team.
