Real Madrid news: Chelsea ready to pay £119m for Marco Asensio after Alvaro Morata praise
REAL MADRID should reportedly be bracing themselves for a £119m bid for Marco Asensio after Alvaro Morata recommended Chelsea sign the midfielder.
Asensio is one of European football’s brightest talents and started the season in fine form, scoring against Barcelona in both legs of the Spanish Super Cup.
He’s been made to settle for a peripheral role under Zinedine Zidane since then though, starting just nine games as Real have struggled in La Liga.
Asensio has been tipped to leave the Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign, with Chelsea a potential destination as part of a deal for Eden Hazard.
However, the latest reports from Spain indicate the 22-year-old could still be on his way to Stamford Bridge even if Belgian winger Hazard does not move.
According to Don Balon, Chelsea are desperate to get Asensio on-board when the transfer window opens again.
And they are supposedly prepared to pay a hefty £119m (€135m) to prise him away from the Spanish giants.
Don Balon indicate Chelsea’s interest in signing Asensio has ramped up after Morata talked him up.

The Blues are apparently considering snapping up the former Real Mallorca ace even if Hazard does not go to Real.
Florentino Perez is opposed to the idea of losing Asensio, despite Zidane barely starting him.
And that means Chelsea will face strong resistance from the Real president if they launch their planned raid.
