On his way? Olivier Giroud waves to travelling Arsenal fans
That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol.
Nicol also believes a move to Chelsea would not be good for Giroud because he needs to play.
Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly agreed a fee for the Frenchman in a deal that could impact on Arsenal’s attempts to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Giroud is one of a number of strikers Chelsea have been linked with this month but Nicol does not think it would be a good deal for all parties.

“No. It’s not happening, he’s not good enough for a start,” he said.
“And Giroud has to go somewhere to play. So that criteria does not fit with him going to Chelsea.”
Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente has also been linked with Chelsea.
But Nicol does not think Spurs will allow the Spaniard join a rival.

“I can’t see how Spurs can afford to let Llorente go,” Nicol added.
“The only other centre-forward they have is Harry Kane, Llorente’s there to back him up.
“So if Llorente goes, there’s nothing left. It doesn’t look like Spurs are looking to sign a centre-forward, so I just don’t see this happening.
“Not because it wouldn’t work but because Spurs cannot afford to let him go.”
