Riyad Mahrez: Arsenal and Manchester City sent £90m warning by Leicester
LEICESTER have slapped a £90million price-tag on Riyad Mahrez to put off Arsenal and Manchester City, reports claim.
Riyad Mahrez's unbelievable skills and goals
Mahrez has put in a transfer request, although with the window slamming shut at 11pm tonight, he hasn’t given himself much time to complete a deal.
Liverpool were initially keen on signing the Algerian as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho who joined Barcelona, but their interest appears to have cooled over the past few weeks.
Mahrez is more eager to join Arsenal, Express Sport understands, and he has bought a property in London.
Express Sport also understands Pep Guardiola is eyeing up a late swoop to bring the 2016 PFA Player of the Season to the Etihad.
Riyad Mahrez could be on the move on deadline day
I have interest in a lot of players, good players, there are many
Guardiola feels he could be short of bodies up front, especially with Gabriel Jesus and Leroy Sane absent.
This is despite just shelling out £57m to sign Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilabo.
And now according to the Daily Mirror, Leicester are demanding £90m for Mahrez’s services.
A £60m bid has already been submitted by City.
Pep Guardiola wants to sign Riyad Mahrez
Leicester have repeatedly insisted Mahrez is not for sale, but should a suitable bid come in, they could be forced into a rethink.
Meanwhile, when Guardiola was asked about a move for Mahrez, he said: “I have interest in a lot of players, good players, there are many.
“The window is open until the 31st.”
