ARSENAL youngster Marcus McGuane has joined Barcelona, the club have confirmed.
Marcus McGuane has left Arsenal for Barcelona
Marcus McGuane was linked with a move to Barcelona this month after struggling to break into Arsenal’s first team.
The 18-year-old midfielder was highly rated at youth level but had not featured heavily in Arsene Wenger’s plans.
Reports in Spain suggested the teenager was in Barcelona today to finalise his move to the Nou Camp.
And the Gunners have since confirmed the youngster has made the move to the La Liga giants.

“Marcus McGuane has agreed to join Barcelona for an undisclosed fee,” a club statement read.
“The 18-year-old midfielder also made two appearances for our first team, featuring in away wins over Red Star Belgrade and BATE Borisov in the Uefa Europa League earlier this season.
“We would like to thank Marcus for his contribution and wish him well at Barcelona.
“The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
The news will come as a blow to Arsenal who have been attempting to get the midfielder to sign a new long-term contract.
However, McGuane’s departure was on the cards as he admitted last week he would be evaluating his future in January.
“My goals for the end of the season are to take as many opportunities as I can,” he said.
“If I get chances to train with the first team, then to do as well as I can.

“If I get the chance to get in the squad again or play then I want to show what I can do.
“I set goals for the whole season back at the start, then I re-evaluate in January.”
McGuane is a product of the Gunners youth academy and signed a scholarship two years ago but was yet to pen a professional deal with the club.
He made two appearances this term in the Europa League, featuring against Red Star Belgrade and BATE Borisov.
